Women’s Freestyle Novice Competition

Eligibility:
Open to women ranging ages 16-21 with an active USA Wrestling Membership

• Novice Division: Open to any women with less than 2 years of wrestling experience or 20 matches at any level in any style.

• Intermediate Division: Open to any woman with 3 or less years of wrestling experience in any style.

*Please note that this tournament is designed to grow the sport for new women. It is not your typical college open. This is not an event for experienced wrestlers. This is an opportunity for new wrestlers to test their skills and compete against those with similar experience levels. If you are violating the above mentioned eligibility requirements or spirit of the event, you will not be allowed to participate and will not receive a refund.

Registration / Entry Fees:
Athlete Registration Fee: $30 (Registration Deadline: March 27th at 1pm)
Spectator Fee: $5
Coaches: $0

Tentative Schedule:
Doors Open: 10:00am
Competition: 11:00-3:00pm
Pizza Party & Social: 3:00-4:00pm

Competition Format

• There are no official weigh ins. Athletes will pre-register at their walk around weights. Those weights will be used to establish Madison Brackets.

• Two, 2 minute periods with a 30 second break between rounds running clock 

*In an effort to allow for more mat time, wrestlers will be asked if they’d like to continue wrestling after a pin or technical fall. Please note the table staff will record the original match result, not the continued match result.
